Since 1999, IYLI has partnered with the Liberty Partnership Program, Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and the Transformation of Schools, Steinhardt School of Education, New York University to conduct workshops and seminars for secondary school students. More than 1,000 students have participated.
IYLI is a partner with the National Ecovillage Association of Senegal (ANEV). ANEV was created to coordinate the implementation of the Ecovillage concept considered a policy of ecological planning of village space for food, water and energy self-sufficiency. ANEV's mission is integrated and sustainable rural development, whose purpose is to contribute to the achievement of national objectives in the fight against the effects of climate change, conservation of biodiversity and poverty reduction, among others.
The partnership with IYLI establishes the framework for positive community development and strengthening peace among peoples. Further, the partnership establishes opportunities for study and international exchange, including a Summer Academy and a program of cultural immersion for Senegalese and U.S. students and leadership and training related to renewable energies (access, biodiesel/biofuels, solar and wind energy, sustainable development).
IYLI partners with the Metropolitan New York Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolence. The partnership includes workshops on Kingian nonviolence principles and student recruitment and selection for the SFP.
IYLI is a member of the Global Access Pipeline (GAP), a consortium that provides a "pipeline" for the underrepresented to achieve leadership positions in international affairs across governmental, non-profit and private sectors in the United States. The GAP project links pre-collegiate programs for underrepresented and at-risk students with college- and graduate-level programs that are then tied to key mid-career leadership programs.
IYLI is pleased to collaborate with the Foundation for Letters. The Foundation supports writing excellence of students in New York City Schools.
